Born into the context of a Catholic family her family was raised in Manhattan's Upper East Side. For this reason her parents put her into the Convent of the Sacred Heart a religious and elitist school. From the time she was a child she was a lover of music. She learned how to play piano in the very beginning and wrote her first original song when she was thirteen. The open mic night was her favorite. After graduating from high school and matriculating at the Tisch School of Art of New York University where she took music classes. Although she was not able to pursue her studies, and instead she quit the school to begin her music career.
